Sister taxon: Distenorrhinus (Parabrenthorrhinus) xavieri
Type specimen: PIN 2904/973, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Karatau-Mikhailovka (PIN collection 2904), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Karabastau Formation of Kazakhstan.
