Sister taxa: Pronothrotherium mirabilis, Pronothrotherium typicum

Type specimen: FHC-DPV-270, a mandible (left mandibular ramus). Its type locality is Arazati km 95.750, which is in a Huayquerian/Montehermosan terrestrial siltstone in the Raigón Formation of Uruguay.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution: found only at Arazati km 95.750
