Sister taxa: Lycopsis longirostrus, Lycopsis padillai, Lycopsis torresi

Type specimen: MMH 87-6-1, a maxilla (left maxilla fragment with P1-M4 complete). Its type locality is Ribera del Arroyo Chasicó, which is in a Chasicoan terrestrial horizon in the Arroyo Chasicó Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: scansorial carnivore

Distribution: found only at Ribera del Arroyo Chasicó
