Type specimens:

  • Aphaneramma rostratum: BMNH R.3180, a partial skull. Its type locality is Sticky Keep temnospondyl, which is in a Smithian coastal horizon in the Kongressfjellet Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.
  • Lonchorhynchus oebergi: NR B.1, a partial skull. Its type locality is Kap Thordsen, Dickson Land, which is in a Smithian coastal horizon in the Kongressfjellet Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.
