Type specimen: UCM 17704, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Florissant (University of Colorado Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

Distribution: found only at Florissant (University of Colorado Collection)
