Sister taxon: Incisitermes peritus
Type specimen: UCMP 12613, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is UCMP B-5103, Las Cruces landslide, Simojovel region, which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico.

Distribution: found only at UCMP B-5103, Las Cruces landslide, Simojovel region
