Type specimen: LACMIP 362, a wing. Its type locality is Site 16 (LACMIP 363), Calico Hills, which is in a Hemingfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Barstow Formation of California.

Distribution: found only at Site 16 (LACMIP 363), Calico Hills
