Sister taxa: Palaeovespa baltica, Palaeovespa florissantia, Palaeovespa gillettei, Palaeovespa relecta, Palaeovespa scudderi, Palaeovespa socialis, Palaeovespa wilsoni
Type specimen: MNHN Auvray 21.6, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Menat (MNHN collection), which is in a Selandian crater lake diatomite in the Menat Formation of France.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Menat (MNHN collection)
