Type specimen: SMNS unnumbered, an osteoderm (Anterior caudal paramedian scute). Its type locality is Heslach quarries, Stuttgart, "Heslacher Wand", which is in a Norian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone in the Löwenstein Formation of Germany.
