Sister taxon: Graptopsaltria nigrofuscata
Type specimen: Totori Prefectural Museum 649-072, a forewing. Its type locality is Tatsumi-toge, Tottori Prefecture, which is in a Messinian terrestrial mudstone in the Ningyotoge Formation of Japan.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Tatsumi-toge, Tottori Prefecture
