Sister taxon: Belonopterus lilloi
Type specimen: ROM 13022, a limb element (left humerus, distal end). Its type locality is Talara Tar Seeps, which is in a Pleistocene tar horizon in Peru.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution: found only at Talara Tar Seeps
