Type specimens:
- Dorsetochelys typocardium: CAMSM J.5329 (Seeley No4), a shell (complete carapace in dorsal aspect).
- Ballerstedtia bueckebergensis: GZG.BA.533a-c, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Harrl Hill, which is in a Berriasian marine horizon in Germany.
- Dorsetochelys delairi: DORCM G.23, a skull (a complete skull). Its type locality is Durlston Bay unspecified [Sit Charles Richardson Collection], which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the United Kingdom.
- Thalassemys ruetimeyeri: BMNH 40676, a partial shell (a carapace in dorsal aspect lacking most marginals). Its type locality is Swanage (general), which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the United Kingdom.
