Type specimen: BMNH Sternberg 12B, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Florissant (BMNH Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

Distribution: found only at Florissant (BMNH Collection)
