Sister taxon: Saurichthys (Eosaurichthys) madagascariensis
Type specimen: ZJNM CH-44, a set of postcrania. Its type locality is Meishan quarry, lower Changxing limestone, which is in a Changhsingian offshore ramp lime mudstone in the Changxing Formation of China.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Meishan quarry, lower Changxing limestone
