Sister taxa: Docodon striatus, Docodon superus, Docodon victor

Type specimen: DMNH 42198, a partial skull (a nearly complete left dentary with alveoli for i1–i4, p1, and crowns of the canine, p2–p4, and m1–m7). Its type locality is Small's Quarry, Garden Park, which is in a Tithonian pond mudstone in the Morrison Formation of Colorado.

Ecology: scansorial insectivore

Distribution:

• Jurassic of United States (2: Colorado, Wyoming collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
