Sister taxa: Illtydaspis ornata, Illtydaspis quartetensis
Type specimen: GSC 91853, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is Collection 90671, which is in a Dyeran marine limestone in the Illtyd Formation of Canada.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal carnivore
Distribution: found only at Collection 90671
