Sister taxon: Schizopteryx shandongensis
Type specimen: Shandong Provincial Museum L88255, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Nanligezhuang, Tuanwang Town, Laiyang City (Shandong Prov. Mus.), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large shale in the Laiyang Formation of China.
