Type specimen: CPT-1423, a partial skeleton (partial skeleton including the disjointed carapace, the articulated plastron, and several bones of the scapular and pelvic girdles). Its type locality is Barrihonda–El Humero, RD-10, which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian fine channel fill claystone/sandstone in the Villar del Arzobispo Formation of Spain.

Distribution: found only at Barrihonda–El Humero, RD-10
