Type specimens:
- Nevadaphyllites microumbilicatus: CAS 66699.01, a shell. Its type locality is First Canyon, Shoshone Mountains (Canadensis zone), which is in an Angulata marine limestone in the Sunrise Formation of Nevada.
- Nevadaphyllites pounamuus: Its type locality is GS 6594, Flag Hill, which is in a Hettangian marine siliciclastic in New Zealand.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore

Distribution:
• Jurassic of Canada (6: British Columbia collections), New Caledonia (2), New Zealand (2), United States (1: Nevada)
