Sister taxa: Hypergoniatites exiguus, Hypergoniatites kardailovkensis, Hypergoniatites tenuiliratus
Type specimen: MfN MB.C.9081.1, a shell. Its type locality is GI-B, Gara el Itima, which is in a Brigantian basinal (siliciclastic) shale in the Hamou-Rhanem Formation of Morocco.
Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore

Distribution:
