Sister taxa: Sagenites dickersoni, Sagenites minaensis, Sagenites reticulatus, Sagenites subtheodori
Type specimen: NWMNH 25271. Its type locality is New York Canyon, section c, lower Nun Mine Mb, which is in a Rhaetian marine limestone in the Gabbs Formation of Nevada.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at New York Canyon, section c, lower Nun Mine Mb
