Type specimen: LPB 229, a shell. Its type locality is Chacay Melehué, bed 0, which is in a Bathonian deep-water shale in the Los Molles Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Chacay Melehué, bed 0
