Type specimens:
- Holcothyris acuminata: GSI Type No. 11756. Its type locality is Pangwoleng, which is in a Bathonian carbonate limestone in the Namyau Beds Formation of Myanmar.
- Holcothyris pinguis: Its type locality is Bawgyo, left bank of R. Namtu opposite, which is in a Bathonian carbonate limestone in the Namyau Beds Formation of Myanmar.
- Holcothyris undulata: Its type locality is Se-In, which is in a Bathonian carbonate limestone in the Namyau Beds Formation of Myanmar.
