Sister taxon: Hartungia japonica
Type specimen: ESN2687, a shell. Its type locality is Tano, Miyazak-gun [Tano Fm], which is in a Messinian coastal siliciclastic in the Tano Formation of Japan.
Ecology: passively mobile planktonic carnivore
Distribution:
• Miocene of Japan (2 collections)
Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
