Type specimens:

  • Paryphella sparsiplicata: NIGP 71148. Its type locality is Zhongxin Dadui Quarry Act733, Meishan, Changxing County, which is in a Griesbachian carbonate limestone in the Yinkeng Formation of China.
  • Paryphella majiashanensis: CUG CM-4-244, a valve (ventral valve). Its type locality is Majiashan, unit 4, which is in a Changhsingian deep-water mudstone in the Dalong Formation of China.
