Type specimen: JME SOS 3611, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Wintershof Quarry, Eichstätt, Solnhofen, which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.
