Sister taxon: Platyphoca vulgaris
Type specimen: GM1, a limb element (dial left humerus). Its type locality is Skaerum Molle, which is in a Tortonian marine claystone in the Gram Formation of Denmark.
Ecology: amphibious piscivore-carnivore
Distribution: found only at Skaerum Molle
