Sister taxa: Megapronorites baconi, Megapronorites itimensis

Type specimen: PIN 455/119, a shell. Its type locality is Kuruil-Bukharcha interfluve, northwest of Novosakmarsk, which is in an Arnsbergian carbonate limestone in the Russian Federation.

Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore

Average measurements (in mm): shell diameter 77.1

Distribution:

• Carboniferous of Kazakhstan (30 collections), the Russian Federation (10)

Total: 40 collections each including a single occurrence
