Belongs to Hypergoniatites according to V. E. Ruzhentsev and M. F. Bogoslovskaya 1971
Sister taxa: Hypergoniatites fusiger, Hypergoniatites kardailovkensis, Hypergoniatites tenuiliratus
Type specimen: PIN 455/7494, a shell. Its type locality is Dombar Hills, sample 3, which is in a Brigantian carbonate limestone in Kazakhstan.
Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore
Average measurements (in mm): shell diameter 36.4
Distribution:
• Carboniferous of Kazakhstan (8 collections)
Total: 8 collections each including a single occurrence
