Type specimen: (lost), an osteoderm (fragment of a mobile osteoderm). Its type locality is Barranca south of Lago Colhue-Huapi, Gran Barranca, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial claystone in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: ground dwelling insectivore

Distribution:
