Sister taxon: Perochelys hengshanensis
Type specimen: IVPP V 18048, a skeleton (Near complete skeleton). Its type locality is Xiao-tai-zi, La-ma-dong, Jianchang, which is in an Aptian lacustrine siltstone in the Jiufotang Formation of China.
Ecology: aquatic piscivore-carnivore
Distribution: found only at Xiao-tai-zi, La-ma-dong, Jianchang
