Type specimens:

  • Arctognathus curvimola: BMNH 47339, a partial skull (Incomplete and crushed skull). Its type locality is Kagaberg, Bedford, which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
  • Lycaenodontoides bathyrhinus: SAM-PK-3329, a partial skeleton (Snout with dentary, pectoral girdle and right hand). Its type locality is Oudeberg (Pass and Plateau) - Cistecephalus Assemblage Zone, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
  • Lycaenops pricei: BP/1/174, a skull. Its type locality is Ferndale, Graaff-Reinet (Dicynodon Assemblage Zone), which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian terrestrial siliciclastic in South Africa.

• Permian of South Africa (3 collections)
