Type specimen: BB 29083-4, a valve (counterpart ventral internal and external mould.). Its type locality is Upper Allt Ddu Group, Caradoc, Bala District, Merionethshire, which is in a Soudleyan offshore mudstone/siltstone in the Allt Ddu Formation of the United Kingdom.
