Belongs to Cricetops according to Matthew and Granger 1923
Sister taxa: Cricetops auster, Cricetops caducus, Cricetops minor
Type specimen: AMNH 19054, a partial skeleton (Skull, lower jaw and forefoot). Its type locality is Loh, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Hsanda Gol Formation of Mongolia.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Oligocene of China (10 collections), Mongolia (11)
Total: 21 collections each including a single occurrence
