Sister taxon: Youngomys yunnanensis

Type specimen: IVPP V12398.1, a tooth. Its type locality is Caijiachong (IVPP Loc. 80026), which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Caijiachong Formation of China.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution: found only at Caijiachong (IVPP Loc. 80026)
