Sister taxon: Apataelurus kayi
Type specimen: IVPP V7997, a mandible. Its type locality is Shipigou, which is in an Eocene/Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Hetaoyuan Formation of China.
Distribution: found only at Shipigou
