Sister taxon: Leptoplesictis namibiensis
Type specimen: GT6 - 1’06, a mandible (right mandible with p/1-m/2.). Its type locality is Grillental, which is in a Miocene fluvial siliciclastic in the Elisabeth Bay Formation of Namibia.
Ecology: scansorial carnivore-insectivore
Distribution: found only at Grillental
