Belongs to Metapterodon according to P. A. Holroyd 1999
Sister taxa: Metapterodon kaiseri, Metapterodon markgrafi, Metapterodon schlosseri, Metapterodon stromeri
Type specimen: AMNH 13264, a mandible (Lower jaw). Its type locality is Lower beds, west of Quarry A, which is in a Rupelian terrestrial sandstone/mudstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.
Ecology: scansorial insectivore
Distribution: found only at Lower beds, west of Quarry A
