Belongs to Scotamys according to A. E. Wood and B. Patterson 1959
Sister taxa: none
Type specimen: ACM 3063, a mandible (left dentary with i, p4-m2). Its type locality is Cabeza Blanca, which is in a Deseadan terrestrial shale/claystone in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Deseadan of Argentina (2 collections)
Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
