Type specimen: USNM 495186, a shell. Its type locality is 3rd Street tunnel, which is in a Pliocene coastal shale in the Fernando Formation of California.
Ecology: facultatively mobile epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at 3rd Street tunnel
