Type specimen: USNM 400863, a shell. Its type locality is USGS Mesozoic D5947, Black Hills, which is in a Cenomanian marine siliciclastic in the Belle Fourche Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of United States (8: Colorado, Wyoming collections)
