Belongs to Cyonosaurus according to D. S. Sigogneau-Russell 1989

Sister taxa: Cyniscopoides broomi, Cyonosaurus kitchingi, Cyonosaurus longiceps, Nanogorgon gracilis

Type specimen: RC 74, a partial skull (Badly preserved skull with dentary). Its type locality is Wellwood (Dicynodon Assemblage Zone), which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Balfour Formation of South Africa.

Distribution:

• Permian of South Africa (2 collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
