Sister taxa: Eriphostoma microdon, Scylacognathus robustus

Type specimens:

  • Scylacognathus grimbeeki: TMP 246, a skull
  • Cynarioides laticeps: TMP 245, a skull (Flattened and deformed skull with mandible). Its type locality is Kookfontein, Victoria West, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial siliciclastic in South Africa.

• Permian of South Africa (2 collections)
