Type specimen: Filhol 1877 pl 26, fig 425 ((possibly lost) right dentary). Its type locality is Phosphorites du Quercy (for taxa with non-specific locality data), which is in an Eocene/Miocene terrestrial phosphorite in the Quercy Phosphorites Formation of France.

Ecology: ground dwelling insectivore-carnivore
