  • Nanictosaurus kitchingi: TM 279, a skull. Its type locality is Wapadsberg Area (Dicynodon Assemblage Zone), which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian terrestrial horizon in the Balfour Formation of South Africa.
  • Nanictosaurus robustus: RC 48, a partial skull. Its type locality is Hoeksplaas (Dicynodon Assemblage Zone), which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
  • Nanictosaurus rubidgei: RC 47, a skull. Its type locality is Wellwood (Dicynodon Assemblage Zone), which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Balfour Formation of South Africa.
