Sister taxa: Mesoscytina australis, Mesoscytina forsterae, Mesoscytina magna, Mesoscytina woodsi
Type specimen: QM F58695, a tegmen. Its type locality is Mount Crosby Insect locality B (Lambkin collection), which is in a Norian lacustrine - small shale in Australia.
