Sister taxa: Diploptera gemini, Diploptera savba
Type specimen: USNM 570667, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Forked Gulch, Green River, which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large lime mudstone in the Green River Formation of Colorado.
