Sister taxa: Arcius fuscus, Arcius hookeri, Arcius rougieri, Arcius zbyszewskii

Type specimen: MNHN AV 5849, a tooth. Its type locality is UCMP V6168, Avenay quarry, which is in a Ypresian terrestrial horizon in the Lignites de Soissonais Formation of France.

Ecology: arboreal omnivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of France (10 collections)

Total: 10 collections each including a single occurrence
