Sister taxon: Turpanotherium elegans

Type specimen: IVPP V 13820, a skull (juvenile skull without mandibles). Its type locality is Yagou Ravine, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial sandstone in the Jiaozigou Formation of China.

Ecology: ground dwelling browser

Distribution: found only at Yagou Ravine
