Sister taxon: Adelpharctos mirus
Type specimen: PFRA 34, a partial skull (Mandible and maxilla). Its type locality is Pech du Fraysse, which is in a MP 28 terrestrial horizon in France.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore-carnivore
Distribution: found only at Pech du Fraysse
